Sonitek® Limited Warranty Summary 2025

1. Who’s Covered

  • Only business (industrial) purchasers buying from Sonitek (“Seller”).
  • Coverage applies to new Thermal Presses and new or used/refurbished ultrasonic welding machines, unless sold “AS IS.”

2. Warranty Duration

  • Ultrasonic Equipment (power supplies, actuators, converters – limited to a one-time replacement within 12 months, horns, boosters): 12 months
  • Thermal & Air Press Machines: 36 months (except heaters/thermocouples: 90 days)
  • Tooling (excluding heaters/thermocouples): 12 months (no coverage for wear/abuse)
  • Used/Refurbished Equipment: As stated in writing; otherwise “AS IS”
  • Custom (Non-Standard) Machines: Covered only if the quotation or sales order specifically states a limited warranty is included

3. Key Exclusions

  • Acts of God, power surges, misuse, unauthorized access/modifications (e.g., breaking a void label), lack of proper maintenance, and any “AS IS” sale.

4. Repair/Replacement Only

Defective products will be repaired or replaced within the warranty period; shipping costs (inbound/outbound) are the Buyer’s responsibility (F.O.B. Milford, CT).

5. Non-Transferable

Coverage extends only to the original Buyer and cannot be reassigned.

Sonitek® Limited Warranty and Disclaimer

1. Scope & Applicability

1.1 Business/Industrial Use Only

Sonitek Corporation (“Seller”) sells ultrasonic welding and thermal (heat staking/air press) machines and related products exclusively for industrial or commercial use. This Limited Warranty applies only to the original business entity (“Buyer”) that purchases products directly from Seller and does not extend to consumer transactions. Seller makes no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose.

1.2 Covered Products

  • Ultrasonic Equipment: power supplies, actuators, converters*, horns, boosters (*One-time replacement)
  • Thermal Machines: heat staking and air presses
  • Tooling and Components (except as noted)
  • Used/Refurbished Equipment, unless explicitly sold “AS IS”

2. Warranty Period

Each product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the period stated on the Buyer’s quotation or invoice, beginning on the date of invoice (for new equipment) or date of shipment (for used/refurbished), unless otherwise specified:

3. Conditions of Coverage

  1. Proper Maintenance & Record-Keeping
    • Buyer must follow maintenance procedures outlined in the Sonitek manual.
    • Keeping a maintenance log (dates, services performed, parts replaced) may be required to validate claims.
  2. No Unauthorized Software/Firmware Changes
    • No software/firmware updates are provided under warranty.
    • Unauthorized modifications void warranty; only Seller-authorized personnel may update.
  3. Approved Parts & Accessories
    • Only Seller-authorized parts may be used. Unauthorized parts or breaking a void label voids warranty.

4. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to products that:

  • Have been misused, neglected, improperly installed, modified, or exposed to Acts of God or power surges.
  • Require normal consumable wear parts, or continuous-duty beyond approved parameters (over 85% power or weld time > 5 seconds).
  • Were sold “AS IS” at time of sale.

5. Additional Terms for Used/Refurbished Equipment

  1. Warranty Period & Applications
    • As stated in writing; if none, sold “AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH ALL FAULTS.”
    • Limited to approved thermoplastic welding applications only.
  2. Peripheral Equipment & OEM Components
    • No warranty for monitors, keyboards, etc., unless stated.
  3. 7-Day Return/Claim Policy
    • Notify Seller within 7 days for RMA before returning defective used/refurbished units.
  4. Geographic Limitations
    • Contact Sonitek for warranty coverage outside U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
  5. Obsolete Parts & Trade-In
    • No coverage for obsolete parts; trade-in credit up to 5% purchase price if parts unavailable.

6. Remedies & Warranty Service

  1. Repair or Replacement: Seller will repair or replace covered products at its option; Buyer pays shipping.
  2. Return-to-Factory Service: Buyer obtains RMA and ships defective product to Seller’s facility; return shipping at Buyer’s expense.
  3. Module Trade-In: Buyer may purchase replacement modules, return defective ones for credit if covered.

7. Disclaimer of Implied Warranties

  • No consumer warranties under the Magnuson-Moss Act; products sold for industrial use only.
  • All other warranties, express or implied, are disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • No indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., lost profits or downtime).
  • Liability is capped at the purchase price of the product in question.

9. Exclusive Remedy

The repair or replacement remedies described are the sole and exclusive remedies for any warranty breach.

10. Non-Transferability

This Limited Warranty extends only to the original Buyer and is non-transferable.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • Governing Law: State of Connecticut, U.S.A.
  • Disputes resolved by binding arbitration in Connecticut per Seller’s terms.

12. Global Applicability & Customer Responsibilities

  • Intended for global commercial/industrial buyers; contact Sonitek for local regulations outside North America.
  • Buyer is responsible for all shipping, handling, customs duties for warranty service returns.
  • Title and risk pass to Buyer upon shipment from Milford, CT 06460 USA (F.O.B./EXW).
